I had an entertaining trip to Manchester on Friday, in order to speak at the ACL conference in the Hilton on Deansgate. Excellent weather, engaging company and some kind things said by members of the audience.
A copy of the paper I delivered, can be found here: 2018 04 15 Qualified One Way Costs Shifting A paper for the ACL Manchester Conference 2018.
I have been reading about the recent measures to introduce QOCS into Scotland. It is interesting to note that although the scope of QOCS has not been generally extended in England to deal with other types of asymmetric litigation than personal injury claims, it is being adopted in another jurisdiction, which will in turn raise interesting issues for England and Wales if QOCS in Scotland in time to come, is extended to include a wider variety of claims.
